Professor Chander Serves as Expert Commentator for International Trade Commission Roundtable

Professor Anupam Chander was invited by the International Trade Commission (ITC) to serve as an expert commentator at a "Digital Trade" roundtable in Washington, D.C. at the ITC's headquarters. 

ITC Chairman Meredith Broadbent led the first session, which inquired into the policy barriers inhibiting the growth of digital trade. Commissioner Dean Pinkert continued the discussion with questioning focused on the ways in which digital trade could improve the lives of people in emerging markets and those living in hard to reach places. Experts and stakeholders from Microsoft, Google, Yahoo!, eBay, and Etsy, to name but a few companies, joined the discussion.

Professor Chander, a leading scholar of international economic law and cyberlaw, has written extensively on issues related to Digital Trade, including most prominently his book, The Electronic Silk Road: How the Web Binds the World Together in Commerce, published recently by Yale University Press, as well as papers such as "Data Nationalism," forthcoming in the Emory Law Journal (available in draft form under the title "Breaking the Web: Data Localization vs. the Global Internet").
