Professor Chander Quoted in Los Angeles Times
Professor Anupam Chander commented for the Los Angeles Times on the story of Andy Boyle, a newsroom developer for the Boston Globe, who has been accused of crossing an ethical line when he tweeted an account of an argument between a young couple in fast food restaurant, including pictures and video, to his 3,000 followers.
"In general, if something is happening in a public place, you can film it and take pictures of it and make it available to the world," Chander said. "The freedom of speech in the United States is very broad."
Still, Chander noted, "It does seem unfair to this young couple, who may not have been able to control themselves in this emotional moment but certainly didn't think they were risking the scrutiny of the world."
