Professor Chander Cited in NY Times Online Commentary

An article by Professor Anupam Chander was cited in a commentary appearing in the "Opinionator," an online forum of the New York Times.  Written by law Professor Stanley Fish, "Anonymity and the Dark Side of the Internet" examines legal questions created by Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which says that no internet service provider shall be treated as the publisher of information provided by another, in effect creating a system in which anonymous posters may broadcast slanderous information without being held responsible.

Fish quotes from Professor Chander's paper "Youthful Indiscretions in an Internet Age" to suggest that the law "should allow the individual to find information to lead her to the person who committed the privacy invasion."

Professor Anupam Chander is a leading scholar in the law of globalization and digitization, and has written widely on international law, cyber law, and corporate law.
