Professor Brownstein Provides Expertise for National Constitution Center Website

Professor Emeritus Alan Brownstein provided content for the "Interactive Constitution," a National Constitution Center website that allows readers to explore each provision of the U.S. Constitution by reading perspectives of legal scholars chosen by the American Constitution Society and the Federalist Society. 

Professor Brownstein discussed the ban on religious tests in Article VI of the Constitution. He contributed  his own article, "Religious Liberty and Equality in a Living Constitution", and co-authored another, "The No Religious Test Clause" (with Jud Campbell, Executive Director of the Stanford Constitutional Law Center at Stanford Law School).

Professor Brownstein, a nationally recognized Constitutional Law scholar, taught Constitutional Law, Law and Religion, and Torts at UC Davis School of Law for more than 30 years. Prior to his retirement from full time teaching, he held the Boochever and Bird Endowed Chair for the Study and Teaching of Freedom and Equality.
