Professor Afsharipour Serves as Widener Law's 2014 Visiting Scholar in Residence in Business and Corporate Law

Professor Afra Afsharipour served as Widener University School of Law's 2014 annual visiting scholar in residence in business and corporate law, delivering lectures to faculty, students, and legal professionals on November 17-18. The annual scholar in residence program was designed to introduce promising scholars in corporate and business law to the Delaware bench and bar.  The program is sponsored by Widener's Institute of Delaware Corporate & Business Law and by The Delaware Counsel Group LLP.

On November 17, Professor Afsharipour gave a talk titled "Deal Advisors" that examined the role of financial and legal advisors in merger and acquisition transactions. On November 18, she spoke to Widener law faculty and students associated with the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law.

Professor Afsharipour's areas of research include comparative corporate law and governance, mergers and acquisitions, and transactional law.  Her scholarship has appeared in numerous law reviews, including the Columbia Law Review, the Minnesota Law Review, the Vanderbilt Law Review, and the UC Davis Law Review
