Prof. Brownstein Comments on Missouri Law for Christian Science Monitor
Professor Alan Brownstein commented for the Christian Science Monitor on constitutional law issues related to a new Missouri law limiting teachers' contact with students on social networks. Professor Brownstein said the case is important because it demonstrates the ways in which social media have presented challenges to traditional notions of protected speech, in part because they make the location at which expressive activity occurs less relevant to the constitutional analysis.
Professor Brownstein, a nationally recognized Constitutional Law scholar, teaches Constitutional Law, Law and Religion, and Torts at UC Davis School of Law, where he holds the Boochever and Bird Endowed Chair for the Study and Teaching of Freedom and Equality.
