In Politico Essay and on Radio, Professor Pruitt Explores Pennsylvania Democrat's Push for Rural Vote

Few Democratic campaigns seem to have tried to claw back rural ground lost to the Republicans, Professor Lisa R. Pruitt notes in an Aug. 9 opinion piece for Politico magazine. But Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman has “lived up to his ‘every county, every vote’ slogan,” Pruitt writes, by showing up to every county in Pennsylvania -- twice -- in his campaign for Senate.

Pruitt spoke about the Politico story and Fetterman’s approach with host Boyd Matheson on the Aug. 12 episode of the “Inside Sources with Boyd Matheson” program on Salt Lake City's KSL NewsRadio station.

Lisa R. Pruitt, Martin Luther King Jr. Professor at UC Davis School of Law, is a scholar whose recent work explores the legal relevance of rural spatiality, including how it inflects dimensions of gender, race, and ethnicity.  Pruitt's work also considers rural-urban difference in transnational and international contexts. She is the recipient of the law school’s 2020 Distinguished Teaching Award.
