One of Professor Amar's Findlaw Columns the Focus of Recent Blog

UC Davis School of Law Professor Vikram D. Amar's July 8 column for FindLaw was the subject of the July 9 "Hit and Run" blog on Reason Online. In the column, Amar outlines some of the winners and losers of the recently concluded Supreme Court term, naming Senator John McCain the non-obvious loser, and noting that McCain's recent failures before the Court are indicative of a less-than-thorough knowledge of the Constitution.

The Reason blog, titled "The Candidates and the Constitution," argues that McCain is not alone in his ignorance of the Constitution. Even Senator Barack Obama, a Harvard Law School graduate and former professor of constitutional law at the University of Chicago, has a similarly suspect record of interpreting the Constitution.

Reason Online is an offshoot of Reason, the self-titled "magazine of free minds and free markets."

Vikram Amar teaches and writes in the fields of constitutional law, civil procedure, and remedies at the School of Law. He authors a biweekly column for FindLaw, a leader in online legal information.
