Aoki Water Justice Clinic Director Camille Pannu weighed in for News Deeply about efforts to connect small, polluted water systems in the San Joaquin Valley to nearby utilities with clean water.

Pannu estimated there are about 50 such mergers in the works in the San Joaquin Valley.

The News Deeply story cites a new report, co-authored by Pannu, that outlines the challenges of these water-system mergers. Pannu collaborated on the report with Nell Green Nylen and Michael Kiparsky of UC Berkeley School of Law’s Wheeler Water Institute.
