Dean Kevin R. Johnson's Jerome Hall Lecture, delivered April 2 at Indiana University’s Maurer School of Law, is now available for viewing on YouTube.
Dean Johnson's topic for the endowed lecture was “Bringing Racial Justice to Immigration Law.” After mapping the discriminatory foundations of immigration law, he discussed the rise of a powerful immigrant rights movement, as well as the Trump administration’s staunch opposition to that movement. The lecture also analyzed the uncertain future of the quest to bring racial justice to immigration law.
Kevin R. Johnson is the law school’s dean, Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and professor of Chicana/o studies at UC Davis. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
