More Oversight Needed For Top UC Salaries
Professor of Law and Chair of the UC Davis Academic Senate Daniel L. Simmons was quoted in Sunday's edition of the San Francisco Chronicle. In the news article on top UC administrators and faculty receiving extra compensation and bonuses that are not publicly disclosed with base salaries, Simmons said there needs to be more oversight.
Simmons is a legal expert in taxation. He was a professor in residence with the IRS' Office of Chief Counsel in 1986-87 and co-authored several books on federal income taxation for individuals and business organizations, including the third edition of Federal Income Taxation: Cases and Materials.
