Wajahat Ali ’07, a New York Times contributing op-ed writer and public speaker, has written his first book, a memoir titled Go Back to Where You Came From and Other Helpful Recommendations on How to Become American.
Set for release on Tuesday, Jan. 25, the book chronicles Ali’s experiences growing up as a Muslim Pakistani American and, according to publisher W.W. Norton, “tackles the dangers of Islamophobia, white supremacy, and chocolate hummus, peppering personal stories with astute insights into national security, immigration, and pop culture.”
Ali will discuss the book with author Dave Eggers in a virtual City Arts & Lectures event on Tuesday, Feb. 1.
