Law Firm Showcases Dean Johnson's Book in DEI Event
On Sept. 16, Dean Kevin R. Johnson spoke about his 1999 book How Did You Get to Be Mexican? A White/Brown Man’s Search for Identity, as the featured author for the Best Best & Krieger law firm’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Book Club.
Mark Easter ’89, a partner in the Riverside office of Best Best & Krieger, helped organize the event.
Johnson also spoke about his book, which was nominated for a 2000 Robert F. Kennedy Book Award, last fall for a K&L Gates LLP Hispanic Heritage Month event.
Kevin R. Johnson is the law school’s dean, Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and professor of Chicana/o studies at UC Davis. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
