King Hall welcomes China University of Political Science and Law, Jilin University students

This spring semester, UC Davis School of Law welcomed students from China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) and Jilin University. The China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) is the world’s largest law school, and a longtime partner to UC Davis School of Law.

CUPL student Songheng (Henry) Wen chose to study abroad at UC Davis School of Law because of the longstanding special relationship between the two law schools, he said. Wen expressed his appreciation for the friendly professors and staff. One of his favorite experiences at King Hall was participating in the Chinese New Year celebration: “My classmates and I performed a dance routine, which was really fun. Some of my classmates wrote calligraphy as well.”

Wen’s experiences at King Hall will benefit his future career, since he plans to become a judge in China. “My experiences at UC Davis School of Law have made me braver, more mature, and more confident in my English skills. Furthermore, I have learned legal research skills, which will help me in my dream career.” Wen believes the memories he made at UC Davis School of Law “will be unforgettable.” The school “helped me discover a new aspect of myself. I found out that I can do things that I had never imagined myself doing, so I really appreciate this experience.”

Jilin University student Jian (Rebecca) Wang shared her most memorable experiences at UC Davis School of Law. She described her experience as “perfect,” noting that “the professors are always there with open doors. … They are really kind and helpful.”

One of Wang’s favorite things about King Hall is the “many convenient study locations the school provides for students.” She advises foreign students to study at UC Davis School of Law “to experience something new, because it will give you new ideas, angles, and perspectives.”
