King Hall Teams Compete in Regional Mock Trial Tournament

Two teams of UC Davis School of Law students turned in impressive showings at the National Trial Competition regional tournament held at Stanford Law School February 13-14.

The team of Valerie Fenchel '11, Jeffrey Liu '10, and Daniel Watts '11 advanced to the semi-final round before losing to their bracket's eventual winner, while the team of Scott Grzenczyk '11, Peter McGuiness '11, and Kelly Van Aken '10 competed in the preliminary rounds against the eventual winner in their bracket.

Both teams expressed their thanks to Daniel Boone '90, a UC Davis School of Law alumnus who has coached the mock trial teams at King Hall for the past two decades, donating his time despite the demands of his busy career as a litigator.  He is currently with the environmental law firm Miller, Axline & Sawyer. 

The team also wished to thank Navruz Avloni '11, Hazel Espejo '10, John Stoller '12, and Leslie Tieu, who served as witnesses in the practice rounds, as Michelle Prince who assisted with the selection of the team.
