King Hall team, coached by alums, wins regional finals in National BLSA trial practice contest

Congratulations to King Hall student advocates Alexis Logan, Dayja Tillman and Kelli Ward, all from the class of ’22, and Meckena Hultin ’23, who represented UC Davis School of Law in the National Black Law Students Association Constance Baker Motley Trial Practice Competition, held Jan. 6-8.

The King Hall team distinguished itself against impressive competition, advancing throughout the tournament and ultimately claiming victory in the regional finals. It was UC Davis Law’s first appearance in the competition. The King Hall team now will advance to the national finals, to be held March 3-7.

King Hall alums Kimberly Waldon ’18 and Jonathan Ogata ’18, both former members of the Trial Practice Honors Board, coached the team. Magistrate Judge Dennis Cota ’86, longtime trial practice instructor and coach at King Hall, supervises all competition teams.
