King Hall introduces 'virtual room reservation' process
The Dean’s Office and IT department have collaborated to provide the King Hall community with a “virtual room reservation” process to allow departments, faculty, and student organizations to host virtual/Zoom-based meetings for the remainder of the spring semester. Virtual room reservations follow the same process as our general room reservations – using the COWS online system for room bookings (see instructions below).
All community members will be able to see what Zoom-based meetings are happening at the law school by logging on to COWS. In most cases, the Zoom link for the event (once approved) will be available within the description of the COWS meeting entry. You must be logged in to COWS to see the virtual rooms and the reservations. Those without a law school login will not have access.
Virtual Room/Zoom-Based Meeting Instructions for Departments, Faculty and Student Organization Leaders
To reserve and receive a Zoom link for a UC Davis School of Law virtual event, please follow the regular Room Reservation Policy (available on COWS). Before submitting a request via COWS, review the Virtual Room schedule (Rooms A, B and C) to check for conflicts during your preferred time (if you can’t see these rooms, you should log on to COWS). When submitting your request, select one of the “Virtual Rooms” as your room preference. In the “Notes” section, please indicate any special needs, including whether the virtual meeting should be recorded and, if so, where the link to the recording should be provided (e.g. Canvas, law school intranet). The Dean’s Office will review your request and, upon approval, provide you with the Zoom link for your meeting via email. Your COWS reservation will be updated with the Zoom link, unless you indicate otherwise. Please do not advertise your event until your event has been approved. Virtual Room/Zoom-based meetings will not be approved on the same day as a request is made, so please plan accordingly. If you have any questions, please email Debbie Hicks at debhicks@ucdavis.edu.
