King Hall Hosts American Society of Comparative Law - Younger Comparativists Committee Workshop

The Younger Comparativists Committee (YCC) of the American Society of Comparative Law (ASCL) hosted its inaugural workshop on comparative business and financial law at UC Davis School of Law, bringing respected scholars from across the country and around the world to King Hall on November 7-8. The event was co-sponsored by the ASCL, the School of Law, and the California International Law Center.

The workshop's purpose was to highlight, develop, and promote the scholarship of new and younger comparativists in accounting, banking, bankruptcy, corporations, commercial law, economics, finance, and securities. King Hall faculty in attendance included Professors Afra Afsharipour, Anupam Chander, and John Hunt. Professor Afra Afsharipour, who served as chair of the event's Program Committee and Workshop Selection Committee, served as a commentator for a paper presentation by Professor Carlos Berdejo (Loyola Law School). Professor John Hunt served as a commentator for a paper presented by Emanwel J. Turnbull (University of Baltimore).
