King Hall holding food drive for campus Pantry May 6-10

The law school is hosting a food drive for the campus Pantry Monday, May 6-Friday, May 10. Collection bins are located in the deans’ office, library foyer and Career Services lobby at King Hall.

All donations will benefit the Pantry, which provides food for UC Davis students who are struggling to pay for meals and basic necessities.

Items needed (those in BOLD are the most frequently requested among students):

Shelf-stable food items:

  • All canned goods including: vegetables and fruits, beans, soup, chili, meats, fish, etc.
  • All dry goods including: rice, pasta, beans, oatmeal, cereal, granola, bread + pastry mixes, soup mixes, etc.
  • Instant meals of all portion sizes including: soups, noodles, rice, etc.
  • Peanut butter
  • Protein and granola bars
  • Fruit cups
  • Pasta sauces

Personal items and toiletries (of all sizes, with smaller and travel size items being particularly useful):

  • Dental products including: toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, floss, etc.
  • Soaps (bar and liquid), shampoo and conditioner, body wash
  • Deodorant
  • Miscellaneous toiletries including:  lotion, sunscreen, etc.
  • Laundry detergent
  • Feminine hygiene products (tampons and pads)
  • Shaving products
  • Toilet paper

If you are interested in making a monetary donation directly to the Pantry, you can do so here. The Pantry is located at the General Memorial Union 154. Hours of operation are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday.
