King Hall Faculty to be Featured During AALS 2022 Conference
UC Davis Law faculty are preparing for the upcoming Association of American Law Schools 2022 online conference Jan. 5-9. “Freedom, Equality, and the Common Good” is the theme of the virtual conference that will take place between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern each day.
Dean Kevin R. Johnson is on the Executive Committee of the AALS Civil Rights Section. He will present as part of the AALS Author Meets Reader Program, "Beyond Imagination?: The January 6 Insurrection," on Jan. 6 at 4:45 p.m.
Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Afra Afsharipour serves on the Executive Committee for the AALS Section on Comparative Law. She will participate in a program held by the Business Associations Section, "New Voices in Business Law," Thursday, Jan. 6 at 4:45 p.m.
Professor Elizabeth Joh is a panelist for "The Newly Central Role of Defense Investigations in the Digital Age" program on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 3:10 p.m.
Professor Tom Joo will speak on the panel, "Race and Teaching Business Associations," on Friday, Jan. 7 at 12:35 p.m. The panel is presented by the Business Associations Section and co-sponsored by Agency, Partnership, LLCs and Unincorporated, Securities Regulation, and Transactional Law and Skills.
Professor Courtney Joslin will present during the Family and Juvenile Law Works in Progress session on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 4:45 p.m.
Professor Leticia Saucedo is a panelist for the "Anti-Discrimination Law's Role in Promoting Democratic Workplaces" panel on Thursday, Jan. 6 at 11 a.m. The program is presented by the Employment Discrimination Section and co-sponsored by Labor Relations and Employment Law.
The Section on Alternative Dispute Resolution has chosen Professor David Horton’s article “Infinite Arbitration Clauses” as the best of 2020. He will be honored during an online awards ceremony on Wednesday, Jan. 5 at 12:35 p.m.
Professor Carlton Larson is on the executive committees for the Section on Legal History and the Section on Law and the Humanities. Professor Donna Shestowsky serves on the executive committee for the Section on Alternative Dispute Resolution.
