King Hall Co-sponsors International Commercial Law Seminar in Cologne, Germany

For the 17th consecutive year, UC Davis School of Law is collaborating with the University of Cologne to host an International Commercial Law Seminar in Cologne, Germany. The seminar features presentations on international trade, finance, intellectual property, and dispute resolution from leading scholars including Professors Anupam Chander and Madhavi Sunder. This year's event, presented in cooperation with the German Bar Association, the German Institution of Arbitration, and the Arbitration Documentation and Information Center, runs June 16-27.

Students include attorneys and judges enrolled in King Hall's innovative summer part-time LL.M. program as well as non-legal professionals seeking advanced knowledge of international commercial law.  Participants in this year's course come from Germany, Chile, Brazil, Nigeria and Switzerland.

The program includes concepts, agreements, and treaties governing international intellectual property law including geographical indications, copyright, trademark, and patent laws. International finance lectures cover the regulation of securities and financial markets by the United States as well as international arrangements such as the Basel Accord on Capital Adequacy and the financial services agreement of the World Trade Organization. Also included are presentations and case studies regarding arbitration and other means of dispute resolution.
