KDVS 'Office Hour' Podcast Spotlights Professor Pruitt

Professor Lisa Pruitt appeared on the May 8 episode of KDVS’ Office Hour podcast hosted by UC Davis Professor of Religious Studies and Undergraduate Faculty Advisor Naomi Janowitz.

In the episode, titled “Urban and Rural Ethics,” Pruitt discusses, among other topics, her path toward focusing her scholarship on "how rural lives encounter the law and think about the law differently than what I argue has become the presumptive urban norm.”

Distinguished Professor of Law Lisa R. Pruitt is a scholar whose recent work explores the legal relevance of rural spatiality, including how it inflects dimensions of gender, race, and ethnicity. Pruitt's work also considers rural-urban difference in transnational and international contexts. She is the recipient of the law school’s 2020 Distinguished Teaching Award.
