Johnson Notes that Law Schools still Lag in Minority Enrollment

Professor and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Kevin Johnson commented on women and minority enrollment at the UC Davis School of Law for the article, "Law: A White Man's World," in the Sacramento Business Journal.

According to the article, although women are taking more seats at law schools, minorities still lag behind, which reflects the low number of minority associates in general.

UC Davis School of Law has a higher percentage of women students—57 percent this year. "I can't say the number of African American students has grown, though," Johnson said. "Without race-conscious affirmative action, it's been pretty stable." Asian American students comprise between a quarter and third of the class at UC Davis this year, he said.
