James Truxaw ’17 Receives California Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) Award
James Truxaw ‘17 received the California Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) Award at a ceremony hosted by CEB at King Hall on August 25, 2015. The award, which honors students at the beginning of their second year of study for the best brief submitted during their first year at UC Davis School of Law, comes with a scholarship provided by CEB. The organization offers educational programs for practicing lawyers and practice books that are used by lawyers throughout the state.
“James is an extremely dedicated student who has consistently applied himself to the foundational skills of legal research and writing,” said Barbara Miltner, his Legal Research and Writing instructor. “He has been a pleasure to get to know and to have in class. His accomplishment foreshadows a very successful future career in the law.”
Each of King Hall's Legal Research and Writing instructors submitted a brief written by one of their students for consideration. In addition to Truxaw, the nominees were Jamie Knauer, Sean Drake, and William Foster.
