International Lawyers and Judges Participate in Mock Trial and Constitutional Law Project

Lawyers and judges from around the world will participate at the Davis School of Law in a mock trial on July 26 and the Constitutional Law Project on July 28. The mock trial provides international students with the opportunity to actually sit on a jury panel and learn first hand about U.S. jurisprudence. The Constitutional Law Project provides students the opportunity of arguing a U.S. Supreme Court case before a constitutional law judge. The focus will be on Bill of Rights issues. Students who come from other countries view the U.S. as a beacon for human rights issues, and in this project they have a chance to explore particular aspects of those liberties. Presiders will be Professor of Law Alan Brownstein, who specializes in First Amendment law and Tim Schooley, J.D. an expert in appellate law.
