The International Centre for Investigative Reporting, in a story on Nigerian President Muhahamdu Buhari limiting responses to his tweets, referenced a 2016 debate in the New York Times between Professor Elizabeth Joh and then-University of Maryland Professor Danielle Keats Citron on whether a U.S. president has the right to block followers on Twitter. Professor Joh's scholarship focuses on criminal procedure and policing, with a special emphasis on DNA evidence, undercover policing, and new surveillance technologies. She is the recipient of King Hall’s 2017 Distinguished Teaching Award.
