Immigration Law Clinic Wins Withdrawal of Plea for Client

On August 5, the UC Davis School of Law Immigration Law Clinic secured the withdrawal of a 2005 criminal plea on behalf of a client who was never advised of the immigration consequences of the plea.  The state court granted the client's Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus and the entire case was then dismissed upon the motion of the District Attorney.

"Anders S. Nelson '11 worked tirelessly on both researching the issues and drafting effective arguments in support of his client," said Raha Jorjani, the Supervising Attorney on the case.
