Ikemoto Comments on Legal and Ethical Concerns of Art Exhibit

Professor Lisa Ikemoto was quoted in the Sacramento Bee (December 7) on the legal and ethical concerns surrounding the "Body Revealed" exhibit, which had its U.S. debut on December 1, 2007. "In my mind, this is part of an expansion in the trafficking of bodies and body parts," she said. "Human bodies are becoming commodified, and it's happening at a pretty rapid pace. This affects the way we see people. And the danger is that we will start seeing bodies as resources."

The traveling exhibit showcases the human body's condition and development by exposing the inner workings of the body using human cadvers.
