House of Lords Committee Quotes Professor Joh Extensively on Use of New Tech in Justice System

Professor Elizabeth Joh’s oral evidence was quoted extensively in a report published on March 30 by the UK House of Lords Justice and Home Affairs Committee on the use of new technologies in the justice system.  After the committee receives the government’s response, the report will be debated in the House of Lords.

In September 2021, Professor Joh was a witness before the Justice and Home Affairs Committee. Joh spoke via Zoom to the committee members, who were gathered in person at the Palace of Westminster in London. Joh discussed new technologies and the application of law.

Professor Joh's scholarship focuses on criminal procedure and policing, with a special emphasis on DNA evidence, undercover policing, and new surveillance technologies. She is the recipient of King Hall’s 2017 Distinguished Teaching Award.
