Gus Lee '76 to Speak at King Hall Outreach Program Graduation
Gus Lee '76, a best-selling author and a nationally recognized ethicist and leadership consultant will speak at the King Hall Outreach Program (KHOP) graduation on August 11, 2006. Through his company, Integrenmics, Lee has spoken on integrity, courage, and leadership to numerous organizations throughout the country. He was mentored by H. Norman Schwarzkopf at West Point and Nuremberg prosecutor and Holocaust refugee Edgar Bodenheimer at the UC Davis School of Law. He was a drill sergeant, paratrooper, assistant dean working for low-income and minority students, JAGC command judge advocate, and legal counsel to the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee's worldwide ethics Connelly Investigation. Lee says he is honored to speak at the KHOP graduation. "I]m looking forward to saluting the students in KHOP, and proud of King Hall for its deep and continued commitment to social justice."
KHOP provides education, support and preparation for law school for undergraduates from educational or economically disadvantaged backgrounds. For students with high academic potential completing their second year of undergraduate studies and who have definite plans to attend law school, the intensive law school preparation program can make a difference. Since the first year of the program in 2001, ten KHOP alums have gone on to attend law schools. This summer, 30 students attended the outreach program.
