The Guardian Quotes Professor Pruitt on Trump's Improved Showing in California
Reporter Dani Anguiano of The Guardian spoke to Professor Lisa Pruitt for a Nov. 17 story on how President-elect Donald Trump flipped eight California counties in the Nov. 5 election that had supported President Joe Biden in 2020.
Although Democrats won the reliably Democratic state as a whole, a majority of voters in Butte, Fresno, Inyo, Merced, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties chose Trump -- a switch from the past election.
“California is a bellwether of progressive politics and we are seeing a recoiling from that in our own state,” Pruitt told Anguiano.
