Free People of Color Lecture Series

This week, the Aoki Center for Critical Race and Nation Studies presented the latest installment of the Free People of Color Lecture Series with historian Hidetaka Hirota of UC Berkeley. Professor Hirota, author of the book Expelling the Poor (Oxford, 2017), talked about his new book project the American Dilemma: The Problem of Foreign Labor in the History of U.S. Immigration Law. The United States has been deeply ambivalent about foreign labor in the United States.
