Fracchia ’79 Profiled in Daily Journal
Solano County Superior Court Commissioner Robert Fracchia '79 was profiled by the Los Angeles Daily Journal on June 12, 2007. In the article, Fracchia said he started preparing for this juvenile court assignment long before his September 2005 appointment by the Solano County bench.
“From undergraduate forward, I have always been involved in juvenile work," he said in the article. He spent a four-month internship as an undergraduate working in San Quentin State Prison, where he wrote reports on inmates who had parole hearings scheduled. "I saw people get stabbed," he said of his time at the prison, but he never felt threatened by the inmates, who numbered up to 800 in the yard when he would walk through.
Fracchia said he always wanted to pursue more study and work in the juvenile justice system. "I'm one of those weird persons who thinks that juvenile dependency is one of the most interesting and underserved areas in our court system.”
