Fourth Circuit judge cites Professor Horton in dissent

The United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit cited Professor David Horton in Mey v. DirecTV.

The Fourth Circuit vacated the district court’s order denying satellite television provider DirecTV’s motion to compel arbitration in an action brought by the plaintiff that alleged violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

Judge Pamela Harris cited Horton’s forthcoming University of Pennsyvlania Law Review article “Infinite Arbitration Clauses” in her dissent.

Professor Horton’s primary research and teaching interests are wills and trusts, contracts, and arbitration law.  In 2015, his article "In Partial Defense of Probate: Evidence from Alameda County, California" was selected as the winner of the 29th annual Association of American Law Schools (AALS) Scholarly Paper Competition and he was honored with UC Davis School of Law’s Distinguished Teaching Award.
