Please join APALSA during the week of February 22-25 for Asian Pacific Islander Week: A Generation of Progress.
We will be hosting a discussion on Korematsu v. United States- the landmark case, originally upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court, that overturned a 40 year-old conviction involving the refusal to obey exclusion orders aimed at Japanese Americans during WWII.
Dale Minami, lead attorney on the Korematsu coram nobis team, will be a featured guest speaker on the panel to discuss the famous case and its impact after 9/11. He will be joined by UC Davis faculty, including Dean Kevin R.Johnson.
Reception to follow.
