Enforcing Stricter Immigration Laws
Associate Dean Kevin R. Johnson was quoted in the Contra Costa Times regarding the enforcement of tougher immigration laws. He says, "It's popular with the public, but there's these economic and social forces at work that really make it impossible to enforce the laws as they are written."
The Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to take up immigration reform bills in February, which includes stepped-up deportation and lengthening the fence along the border with Mexico.
