Diversity Fellowships
Career Services is holding an information meeting for first-year law students on the Sacramento County Bar Association (SCBA) Diversity Fellowship program on Wednesday 17, 2007, at noon in Room 2011. At the meeting, students considering applying for the SCBA fellowship will meet members of the SCBA Diversity Hiring and Retention Committee, hear from last years fellows about their summer experience, and receive advice on how to write a personal statement and interview successfully.
The 2007 Summer Fellowship Program is a collaborative effort of the SCBA working together with participating Sacramento law firms and the Career Development Offices of the UC Davis School of Law and McGeorge School of Law to assist minority and other disadvantaged law students to be more competitive in the legal labor market. The ten-week Summer Fellowship Program will begin on May 29, 2007, and end on August 3, 2007. Fellows work in a participating law firm and receive a stipend of $2,500/month.
Last summer, 10 of the 15 fellowships available in the 2006 Summer Fellowship Program went to Davis law students.

The deadline for completed applications is Tuesday, January 30, 2007. Interviews will take place in February. Notice of selections will be sent to the Career Services Office and to selected Fellows no later than March 5, 2007.
