Dean Johnson takes part in book workshop at Colorado Law

At a conference at the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder, Dean Kevin R. Johnson provided feedback on a book manuscript by Colorado Law School Professor Ming Hsu Chen. Johnson wrote in his commentary that the manuscript, Constructing Citizenship for Noncitizens, will undoubtedly provide a refreshing and important contribution to immigration scholarship.

“Surprisingly, a relatively small amount of contemporary scholarship carefully scrutinizes immigrant integration, including naturalization,” he said.

Johnson was part of a group of immigration scholars providing commentary at the workshop. He was a discussant for Chapter 3 of the manuscript, “Pathways for Legal Immigrants.” The book is forthcoming in 2020 with Stanford University Press.

Kevin R. Johnson is dean of the law school, Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and professor of Chicana/o studies at UC Davis. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
