Dean Johnson Publishes Commentary in Yale Law Journal Online
Dean Kevin R. Johnson has published a commentary on immigration law in Pocket Part, an online companion to The Yale Law Journal. Dean Johnson's article, "Minorities, Immigrant and Otherwise," is part of a group of commentaries published in Pocket Part that revisit a 2003 Yale Law Journal essay authored by UC Davis School of Law Professor Anupam Chander entitled "Minorities, Shareholder and Otherwise."
Professor Chander's essay compares the special protections offered by corporate law for minority shareholders with the lack of protections for racial minorities in constitutional law. Dean Johnson's commentary extends some of Professor Chander's analysis to examine and question the lack of substantive protection for immigrants under constitutional law.
Kevin R. Johnson is dean and Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and Chicana/o studies at UC Davis School of Law. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
