Dean Johnson, Professor Aldana talk to Harvard Law's La Alianza

On Nov. 19, Dean Kevin R. Johnson and Professor Raquel Aldana took part in a virtual panel discussion on pathways to becoming a professor that was presented by Harvard Law School’s La Alianza Latinx law students group. Johnson and Aldana are Harvard Law alums.

Raquel E. Aldana joined UC Davis in 2017 as Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Diversity and professor of law, and became a full-time King Hall faculty member in 2020. She was a professor at the William S. Boyd School of Law, University of Nevada, Las Vegas, before joining the McGeorge School of Law faculty in 2009. Her scholarship has focused on transitional justice, criminal justice reforms, and sustainable development in Latin America, as well as immigrant rights in the United States.

Kevin R. Johnson is the law school’s dean, Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and professor of Chicana/o studies at UC Davis. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
