Dean Johnson, Professor Aldana Address 'Migration and Borders - Law and Enforcement'

Dean Kevin R. Johnson and Professor Raquel Aldana joined other experts – from the United States and Mexico -- for the “Migration and Borders in the 2020s – Law and Enforcement” virtual event on Nov. 18.

Part of a new series of Migration Dialogues, the event was presented by the UC Davis Global Migration Center and Alianza UCMX.

Kevin R. Johnson is the law school’s dean, Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and professor of Chicana/o studies at UC Davis. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.

Raquel E. Aldana, Martin Luther King Jr. Professor of Law, joined UC Davis in 2017 as the inaugural Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Diversity, with a law faculty appointment. She returned to full-time law teaching in 2020. Her scholarship has focused on transitional justice, criminal justice reforms, and sustainable development in Latin America, as well as immigrant rights in the United States. Aldana previously was on the faculties of McGeorge School of Law and Boyd School of Law, University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
