Dean Johnson, Prof. Ikemoto Speak at AALS Mid-Year Meeting
Dean Kevin R. Johnson and Professor Lisa Ikemoto spoke at the Association of American Law Schools Mid-Year Meeting Workshop on "‘Post Racial' Civil Rights Law, Politics, and Legal Education: New and Old Color Lines in the Age of Obama."
Dean Johnson spoke on immigration as part of a panel discussion of "Interventions: The Possibilities of Law" on June 10. Professor Ikemoto spoke about healthcare in the opening plenary session on "The Legal (Re)Production of Inequality" on June 9.
Kevin R. Johnson is Dean and Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and Chicana/o studies at UC Davis School of Law. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
Lisa Ikemoto teaches bioethics and health law courses at the UC Davis School of Law. She has written extensively on genetics and reproductive technology, the regulation of fertility and pregnancy, and race and gender disparities in health care. Her current work examines emerging issues in regenerative medicine, including stem cell research, and the human tissues market.
