Dean Johnson Honored with Diversity Visionary Award

Dean Kevin R. Johnson has been honored with a Diversity Visionary Award by Insight into Diversity magazine.  The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to diversity in higher education.

Dean Johnson is being honored for his contributions as a legal scholar in the areas of civil rights and immigration, for his leadership in organizations such as the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund, Legal Services of Northern California, and the State Bar of California's Council on Access and Fairness, and for his work as an administrator "to ensure that UC Davis School of Law is among the most diverse of all top-tier law schools and the most welcoming for students of all nationalities, ages, faiths, immigration statuses, and backgrounds."

Kevin R. Johnson is Dean and Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and Chicana/o studies at UC Davis School of Law. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
