Dean Johnson Delivers Keynote Speech at SJSU Immigration Symposium

Dean Kevin R. Johnson delivered the keynote speech at the San Jose State University College of College of Social Sciences' Symposium on Immigration April 30.  Dean Johnson spoke on his latest book, Opening the Floodgates: Why America needs to Rethink Its Borders and Immigration Laws (NYU Press, 2007).  The presentation was followed by a panel discussion of the book with SJSU Professors Shahin Gerami, Glen Gendzel, and Gil Villagrán, with Victor Garza, Jr. of Evergreen College, and a question-and-answer session with the audience.

Kevin R. Johnson is Dean and Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and Chicana/o studies at UC Davis School of Law. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
