Dean Johnson Contributes to New Book on U.S. Capitol Insurrection
Dean Kevin R. Johnson and 13 other law school deans contributed to the new collection “Beyond Imagination?: The January 6 Insurrection,” which was released by West Academic on the first anniversary of the riot at the U.S. Capitol.
The book examines the Capitol insurrection as a turning point in American history, exploring the issues that led to this event from a legal perspective in hopes of moving the nation forward toward healing and a recommitment to the rule of law and the Constitution.
Johnson and his fellow authors discussed the new book during a Jan. 6, 2022 session at the Association of American Law Schools’ annual (virtual) meeting.
Kevin R. Johnson is the law school’s dean, Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and professor of Chicana/o studies at UC Davis. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
