Dean Johnson Comments on UC Faculty Pay Cuts for National Law Journal
Dean Kevin R. Johnson commented on the pay cuts facing faculty at University of California law schools for the National Law Journal. Like other UC employees, law faculty are facing cuts of 4-10 percent under a furlough plan recently approved by the UC Regents.
"For all kinds of reasons, it's not a morale booster," said Dean Johnson. "But at the same time, it's not altogether a surprise. We knew something was coming down."
Kevin R. Johnson is dean and Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and Chicana/o Studies at UC Davis School of Law. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
