Dean Johnson Comments on Justice Moreno as Souter Replacement for SFGate.com
Dean Kevin R. Johnson commented on the possibility of California Supreme Court Justice Carlos Moreno being chosen to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice David Souter for an article on SFGate.com, the website of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Dean Johnson described Justice Moreno as a moderate who would be "sort of a Bill Clinton democrat on criminal issues." Asked about whether President Obama might feel pressured to appoint a woman to the male-dominated Court, Dean Johnson said that while "a woman would be good to nominate, so would a Latino."
