Dean Johnson Comments on JD-MBA Programs for Daily Journal
Dean Kevin R. Johnson commented for the Daily Journal on programs that enable students to study law while also working toward a graduate degree in business. UC Davis School of Law offers a Joint Degree Program, which gives students the opportunity to study law in conjunction with earning a master's degree from other UC Davis schools and departments, including the UC Davis Graduate School of Management. The programs can offer students a valuable, real-world perspective on the study and practice of law, he said.
"I do think that students feel they gain the most in classes where there's a mixture of business people and law people," said Dean Johnson. "It's good to have business world insights brought to bear on the legal issues, and I assume the same is true for business students."
Kevin R. Johnson is Dean and Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and Chicana/o studies at UC Davis School of Law. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
