Dean Johnson Comments on Immigration for Mother Jones
Dean Kevin R. Johnson commented for Mother Jones on the controversial immigration enforcement program Secure Communities. The article examines whether Immigration and Customs Enforcement misled local authorities as to whether they could opt out of the program. Dean Johnson states that while he believes it is unlikely ICE intentionally misled local law enforcement about the program, Secure Communities represents an example of the federal government "commandeering the state governments to deal with immigration for them" and "shows how far Obama's ‘enforcement now, enforcement forever' policy is going."
