Dean Johnson Comments on Immigration Law for KPCC
Dean Kevin R. Johnson commented for Southern California Public Radio station KPCC on a strict new immigration law recently enacted in Alabama. Dean Johnson said states and localities are continuing to pass immigration measures in part because of lack of comprehensive reform from Congress, and that it is probably "just a matter of time" before the U.S. Supreme Court takes a case that will set legal boundaries for such measures.
Kevin R. Johnson is Dean and Mabie-Apallas Professor of Public Interest Law and Chicana/o studies at UC Davis School of Law. He is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of immigration law and policy, refugee law, and civil rights.
